Staff Accountant/Financial Analyst

Job Summary: The Staff Accountant/Financial Analyst will prepare, reconcile and maintain financial records to track the organization’s assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities, and other related financial activities. This role will be actively engaged with annual budgeting, corporate development, strategic projects, numerous ad hoc analyses, data analytics and decision support. Duties/Essential Job Functions: Codes invoices, reconciles accounts, and closes the monthly books Prepares and reconciles monthly balance sheet, income statement, and profit and loss statements including but not limited to: A/R, A/P, Revenue including Credit/Debit Memos Maintains the integrity of the General Ledger Performs general cost accounting and other related duties for the organization Reconciles bank accounts, verifies deposits, and addresses inquiries from banks Reconciles cash disbursement accounts, payroll, sales commission, customer accounts, and other financial accounts Prepares the sales commission reports Verifies payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensures payments are charged to the appropriate accounts Provides assistance with gathering information and documents to perform annual audit Provides assistance with preparing reports and gathering information for the annual tax filing Assists with the annual budgeting process by analyzing historical data, collaborating with various departments, and modeling future performance Supports the preparation of presentations and analysis for our board of directors Contributes to other strategic and financial ad hoc analyses as needed Maintains knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures Performs other related duties as assigned Experience/Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting Understanding of and the ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles Ability to correctly prepare reports for tax filing Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software, and accounting software. Required Education/Licensing/Certification: Degree in Accounting, or related field 4 years of related experience Strong understanding of each of the three primary financial statements Enjoys analyzing and working with large data sets Advanced MS Excel skills, MS Word and MS PowerPoint Execution-focused, sense of urgency attitude with a collaborative, team mentality Strong problem-solving skills with high attention to detail and a penchant for accuracy Comfortable with multiple tasks and due dates Unquestioned confidentiality, personal integrity and work ethic Physical Requirements: Business casual attire Occasionally requires attending corporate functions Requires travel (5-10%)
